The Bouncers are comprised of some of the best musicians in Canada. The all-star ensemble includes John Adames on drums, Pat Carey on sax, Mitchell Lewis on guitar, Howard Moore on trumpet, Terry Wilkins on bass,  and their leader Bradley Harder on vocals.  Jeff Halischuk regularly plays drums with the band, subbing for John Adames.  Together they perform standards by Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, Dean Martin, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra and Fats Waller to name a few. 

For seasonal parties, weddings, corporate or private events, Bradley and the Bouncers are an excellent choice of entertainment. Whether performing to an audience of thousands or to a small group, Bradley and the Bouncers deliver the goods every time.

 

John Adames - Drums
Dr. John Adames has extensive experience and has earned much respect as a drummer on the Canadian music scene.  In addition to Bradley and the Bouncers, John has played with many artists including Rough Trade, David Wilcox, Prairie Oyster, Chris Whiteley and Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, The Bebop Cowboys, the Brothers Cosmoline, Mary De Keyser’s Melody Ranch and Kevin Philips’ Cadillac Ranch.  John has also made many appearances on CBC television.  During the day John can be found teaching for the English Department of Seneca College.       back to top

 

Pat Carey - Saxophone
From northern Manitoba, saxophonist Pat Carey was formally educated at the University of Manitoba’s School of Music where he earned a Major in Performance. During those formative years Pat played many concerts while performing with The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, allowing him to play with some of the greatest jazz performers the world has ever known, such as Lionel Hampton, Sarah Vaughan, Tony Bennett, and Mel Torme. Pat also performed with Jimmy King & the Golden Boy Brass, Ron Paley, Rocki Rolletti, and his own Jazz groups.  At the same time, Pat was also a busy studio musician for television and radio.  Pat moved to Toronto in 1984 and joined the Downchild Blues Band in 1985, and continues to be a member.  Pat has co-produced three Downchild CDs, the latest CD, Come On In, being Juno Nominated in 2004.  Pat’s horn arrangements are an integral part of many Canadian recordings by such artists as Jack DeKeyzer, Chuck Jackson and the All-Stars, Big Daddy G and Sunny Fournier.  As well as his recording with Bradley and the Bouncers Pat has made many recordings with Downchild and has also recorded with Rita Chiarelli, Fathead, Sam Myers ( 2005 WC Handy Award Nominated CD ), Kenny Blues Boss Wayne ( 2006 Juno Award Winning CD ), and legendary rhythm and blues vocalist and tenor saxophonist, Jimmy Cavallo.  Pat was recognized as Horn Player of the Year at the Maple Blues Awards in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 & 2004.  Pat’s own band, Pat Carey's Jazz Navigators, recorded its first CD Starlight in 2002 and has just recorded a brand-new CD South By Southeast released in February 2007.  In addition to playing with Bradley and the Bouncers, Pat’s busy schedule has him performing regularly with his own Jazz Navigators, the Downchild Blues Band, Sophia Perlman & The Vipers, Big Rude Jake, The Nomads and Chuck Jackson & The All Stars.      back to top

 

Bradley Harder - Vocals
Bradley Harder is the youngest of 13 children and was born in Saskatoon, raised in Calgary and now happily resides in Toronto. Coming from a religious background, Bradley’s roots are in gospel music but throughout his life he has been at ease performing various types of music including country, rockabilly, blues, jazz or rock. Prior to The Bouncers, Bradley formed a group called The Harder Brothers performing original roots and bluegrass tunes around town.  While making a guest appearance at a rockabilly concert in Russia during 1992 Bradley developed laryngitis.  Antibiotics didn’t work so he ended up with nodes on his vocal chords resulting in his rich and distinctive voice.   Whatever the musical genre or venue,

Mithcell Lewis - Guitar
Mitch Lewis plays guitar for Bradley and the Bouncers but is also a drummer, bass and lap steel player.   He has been a professional musician for 30 years primarily as chameleon sideman but also as an occasional leader.   Sideman gigs have included John Hammond Jr, Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson, Kenny "blues boss" Wayne, Peter Noone (Herman’s Hermits), Mamas and the Papas 8o's tour, Freddy Roulette (lap steel virtuoso), Johnny Paycheck, Eric Anderson, RAFFI, David Rea, Murray Mclaughlin, Sylvia Tyson, Quartette, Colleen Peterson and Lord Nelson.   Other than Bradley and the Bouncers Mitch has played with many local acts including Scott Merrit, Anne Lindsay, Chris Whiteley, Hock Walsh, Professor Piano and the Canadian Aces, Mark Haines and the Zippers, Ron Nigrini, Kevin Phillips’ Cadillac Ranch, Swing Gang, Danny Brooks, The Roulettes, Helen Stewart and Sophia Perlman and the Vipers.   Recordings have been made with Raffi, Murray Mclaughlin, Sylvia Tyson, Eric Andersen, Johnny Paycheck, Prof Piano, Mark Haines, Ron Nigrini, 2B3 including Doug Riley and members of Little Feat, Kenny Wayne, Doc Fingers, Atom Agoyan (film score) as well as numerous jingles and private recording sessions.  Mitch completed guitar arrangements for "Truth, Justice and the American Way", a movie starring Ben Affleck.  Mitch has also been house drummer and multi-instrumentalist for London Home County Music Fest for the Last 8 years.   Acts include David Essig, Valdy, Ken Whiteley, Mosaic, Jackie Washington and Harry Manx.  Playing drums, Mitch has toured Japan with Little Jimmie Bowskill and has played guitar with Jon Lord of Deep Purple.  Mitchell currently lives in the 'hood’ raising his daughter and travels to Europe each winter to play jazz.    back to top
 

Howard Moore - Trumpet
Residing in Toronto, Howard Moore is a classically trained musician who studied music at York University, University of Toronto and the Royal Conservatory of Music. His in-depth and versatile career has been as a trumpet player, keyboard player and vocalist. Over the past 15 years Howard has toured and recorded wi
th many international reggae stars such as Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Third World, Gregory Isaacs and Dennis Brown. TV appearances include the NHL Awards, Juno Awards, Genie Awards, Gemini Awards and the 2006/07/08 Canadian Idol series. Movie/TV music supervisory roles include BRAVO’S “The Jazz Man”, Disney’s “In a Heart Beat”, “In My Father’s Shoes” staring Lou Gosset Jr. and “Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang” staring Gary Busey and Ice-T. Howard has consistently recorded with many of the country’s best artists. He has appeared on over 200 albums, acting as music arranger/producer on many of them! In addition to currently playing trumpet with Bradley and the Bouncers, Howard’s busy performance schedule also includes playing with Sophia Perlman & the Vipers, Rude Jake and Luke Nicholson. When not playing around town, Howard is busy with plenty of studio work.     back to top

 

Terry Wilkins - Upright Bass  
Terry Wilkins is a Toronto based musician, composer, bandleader, arranger, producer and teacher.   A native of Sydney, Australia he arrived in Toronto in 1971 with Aussie pop band,  Flying Circus, and since then has worked with many Canadian and international artists from Lighthouse to Big Sugar as well as Rough Trade and David Wilcox.  He has also backed many visiting artists  such as Dr. John, Eddie Cleanhead Vinson, Maria Muldaur, John Hammond, Levon Helm and Son Seals.  His musical range is wide and varied with an emphasis on roots music especially blues and swing with some interesting adventures in Caribbean styles.  Currently Terry works with Bradley and The Bouncers.  He previously worked with Sophia Perlman and The Vipers who released a CD entitled Once Smitten.   He wrote, co-produced and arranged tracks on the CD.  He has just completed a CD for national treasure Bob Snider.  Production credits include Juno nominated Chris Whiteley; Blues Party and Raoul and The Big Time; Big Time Blues (2001)and Cold Outside (2004) as well as The Legendary Miles Johnson featuring Raoul Bhaneja and Graham Guest released in 2006. He also completed a CD playing bass and producing for Dennis Aubrey, his younger brother who is based in Australia (2007).      back to top
 

Jeff Halischuk - Drums
Jeff is a drummer currently freelancing on the Toronto scene.  He can be seen playing Jazz, Blues, and R n' B in many clubs throughout the city. Some influences include Brian Blade, Keith Jarrett, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Steely Dan, Duke Ellington, and Nat King Cole, to name a few. In addition to playing with Bradley and the Bouncers he is also a member of The Vipers, a seven piece jazz band featuring vocalist Sophia Perlman.       back to top
